As the Associate Director of Intellectual Property and Financial Operations, Carla is responsible for IP Oversight and Administration, Database Administration, and Financial Oversight and Administration .

BACKGROUND

​Carla is a seasoned research administration professional with more than 20 years of experience supporting academic research and innovation. She brings deep expertise in academic technology transfer operations, having spent 16 years in progressively responsible roles within the field. Most notably, Carla spent eight years at Rice University, where she led all operational functions of the technology transfer office, overseeing processes, systems, and team workflows that supported the commercialization of university research.

Following her time at Rice, Carla worked as an independent consultant for multiple technology transfer offices, including Dartmouth College. In this role, she provided both strategic and operational support.

Most recently, Carla served for five years as Vice President of Customer Success, Academic at Wellspring Worldwide. In this role, she led the services, support, and customer success teams, working closely with academic institutions to drive successful software adoption, enhance customer experience, and build long-term partnerships across the research enterprise.

In January 2026, Carla joined Dartmouth’s Technology Transfer Office, bringing together her extensive operational background, consulting experience, and customer-focused leadership to support the office’s mission and growth.

Outside of work, Carla enjoys spending time with her dachshunds, gardening, and continually exploring new things to learn.
