Kerry E. Swift
Kerry facilitates the disclosure, assessment and protection of innovative research from the Geisel School of Medicine and manages the marketing and licensing of these technologies to both established companies and new Dartmouth College start-ups.
Critical to this tech transfer process is assisting with the further development of potential products through introductions to Dartmouth’s robust accelerator education and venture support and connecting and building relationships between industry and Dartmouth researchers.
Kerry comes to Dartmouth from UVM Innovations at the University of Vermont where she managed technologies from across the university. She also served as the Interim Director of UVM Innovations from 2011 to 2012. Prior to UVM Innovations, Kerry was at MIT's Technology Licensing Office where she licensed MIT technologies in the biomedical, drug delivery, laser and device sectors. While at MIT, Kerry participated in exchange visits and work at Cambridge Enterprises at the University of Cambridge, UK.
Kerry holds a Master of Science in Molecular and Microbiology from Tufts University and a BS in biochemistry from the University of New Hampshire.
While Vermont holds a piece of her heart, Kerry was born in New Hampshire and grew up in Durham, NH. Years of messing around in wooden sail and row boats led to high school sculling and a lifelong love of rowing all sides, all boats. Kerry also has many fond memories of state swim championships at Dartmouth, pre-UVAC and fierce XC competitors and friends from Hanover High School.
She is currently partnering with her husband trying to keep up with two high school athletes, musicians, theater kids with varied interests in chemistry, plant science and tying coding with fantasy. Lizzie the dog makes sure they all get outside multiple times a day and that their dishes are clean, sometimes before they are done with them.
